Bao Bao Fest in Denver/Boulder Area
BaoBao Festival celebrates the West African tradition of gathering under the Baobab Tree for singing, dancing, drumming and narrative drama (storytelling). The festival is open to everyone in the community to participate in the interactive workshops and to watch the performances. The festival brings together talented performers who were members of professional dance and theater groups in Ghana and local performers from the United States and other West African Countries.

Zimfest in Boulder
A lively and fun-filled celebration of Zimbabwean music and culture, ZimFest
is the largest annual gathering in North America of students, teachers,
performers, and fans of Zimbabwean music. Join us for a full weekend of
concerts & presentations, plus workshops in marimba, singing, dance, drum,
and hosho. Offerings at levels from total, "never-ever" beginner through
expert. Special youth, choral, and continuing education teacher tracks.
Workshops & afternoon concerts on the beautiful CU-Boulder campus and
evening concerts in town where you can take advantage of all the wonderful
dining, shopping, cultural, and entertainment opportunities Boulder offers.

The African Community Center
is looking for donations for holiday gift baskets for 100 refugee families. If you or your organization is interested in conducting a drive, please contact the ACC.  


Community for Sudanese & American Women (CSAW) asks for your assistance, donating goods or financially, to assist the three 'Lost Girls of Sudan' who were affected by the apartment fire in Boulder earlier in November 2008.  If you would like to make a donation, please make a check out to CSAW, and write 'Emergency' in the memo line. You can mail your check to: CSAW, PO Box 3217, Boulder, CO or drop it of in the office. CSAW is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization; all donations are tax deductible. Open to artists and collectors. Two and three-dimensional objects highlighting the music and people of Zimbabwe, Africa. Exhibit housed in Boulder Public Library Bridge Gallery. Submit 1-3 slides (with sizes of the pieces) of paintings, photography, textiles, musical instruments, sculpture, audio-visuals, poetry, and historical or artistic artifacts.
