Santemu has been delighting the Denver Metropolitan Community for 10 years with her storytelling.  This talented poetess, musician and songstress has integrated her artistic gifts into an educational workshop as well as doing performances.  Ms. Aakhu also performs as a drummer and self-accompanied guitarist and singer.  She is the CEO and Co-Founder of Kushanga Arts.  Santemu currently has completed her debut musical CD of her neo-soul vocals and music.  Email her with “New CD” in subject for more information.

Jafrika is a performance art trio melding music, dance & poetry into an integrated whole. Although the intermingling of different art medium is not in and of itself unique, the interplay with which Jafrika melds the three mediums is noteworthy. Jafrika also offers children’s programs at branch libraries, presenting African-like drum songs and other multicultural performance pieces.

Since 1986, Pugh has lived the life of a contemporary storyteller, speaking, consulting, and conducting workshops throughout the U.S., Africa, Canada, and the Caribbean. Drawing upon her African-American heritage as well as her travels, Opalanga, brings to life the rich and diverse legacy of oral stories She has dedicated her craft to developing concepts of “social artistry,” personal well being, and building a tribal community in the heart of the modern world.
